Imnarja

Imnarja is a traditional Maltese folk festa. Also celebrating the feast of St Peter and St Paul, the name Imnarja is dialectic form of the Italian word Luminaria which means illumination. This refers to the bonfires that would be lit in rural Rabat and surrounds for the festa. The festival has its roots from before the time of the Knights in Malta.
